In 2025, my friend asked me to help her make a wedding dress. She drew up a design and needed someone who could sew to put it together. This was my first experience drafting patterns from scratch. I used a basic A-line skirt pattern with a curved hem and adjusted it to fit her, adding an invisible side zipper. I make one of the inner lining and one of the outer fabric, flat lined them together, and attached them to the waistband. I had to sew the hem by hand to get the scalloped border to match the embroidery of the fabric. I patterned the shirt piece off of a shirt my friend liked the fit of and I drafted a bell sleeve pattern for it. It took me a few months to complete and she loved the end result!
